We Do Playgrounds provides thorough playground inspection in Michigan and Northeast Indiana, ensuring your recreational spaces are safe and up to standard. Our diligence and focused attention to detail are what set our inspection services apart. We help licensed childcare facilities meet all the required standards for play spaces in the Midwest. These standards include:

  • All outdoor play area(s) and equipment should be maintained in a safe condition and inspected daily.
  • The outdoor play area must be protected from hazards by a fence or natural barrier that is at least 48” high.
  • Shaded areas must be available in summer.
  • If used, there must be suitable surfaces for wheeled vehicles and pull toys.
  • Equipment must be age-appropriate.
  • Trampolines may not be used.

Creating Safe Play Spaces

From merry-go-rounds to slides, our experienced inspectors are here to make sure all playground equipment is safe for children to play with. Equipment in outdoor play areas must adhere to the standards outlined in the 2010 edition of the Handbook for Public Playground Safety. Compliance with this rule can be verified by one of the following:

  • A written statement/certificate from the equipment manufacturer or installer
  • A report by a certified playground safety inspector
  • A written statement from the licensee that the equipment will not be used (if verification of compliance with the Playground Equipment Safety Act cannot be produced)

Having conducted inspections on hundreds of playgrounds across the Midwest, we take pride in our N.R.P.A. certification and official approval by the State of Michigan for inspecting playgrounds at licensed childcare facilities.
